Gold and Silver Prices at Unexpected Lows, Time to Buy?

The US is officially in a recession, unless anyone believes the new definition of recession as being "not this, cause we said so". Anyone who experienced the last several recessions, that followed any inflationary period, knows that the Fed solution is to raise interest rates. In doing this, they crush the economy, thus lowering inflation. Basically replacing one pain with another.

Everything seems to cost more. The dollar is worth less. The fact that literally everything costs more, is more of an indication of the decrease in the value of the currency. At the same time, the price of gold and silver has recently gone down.
Gold is down from just over $2,000 and ounce in March 2022, to $1,650 as of today.
Silver is down from just over $26 and ounce in March 2022, to $19 as of today.

Now no one can predict the future, and this is not investment advice, but if the adage is to buy low and sell high, the question is: is this a good low to secure more metal? Given the current low price of precious metal, relative to the value of currency, could mean metals are undervalued, thus a buy signal.

Also note that crypto prices are quite low, relatively. Bitcoin today is below $20k. It has been over $60k in the past. There is a lot more risk owning bitcoin than owning gold, in everything from price volatility, theft, and regulation, but it is something to consider. Unlike gold and silver which have a physical presence, crypto can go to nothing, so entering the crypto market should be done with professional guidance. This is not advice, just an observation.

Junk Silver; Where a 1964 dollars of coin is now worth about $15.00.

Knowing all of this, is it time to invest in something other than US dollars? Precious metals are popular commodities.

The alternative to knowledge and adaptation, in this case is slowly losing your dollar savings value, as the printing continues...

The average US worker works far harder than their counterparts in other developed nations, and get less and less for it every year.
